Hother Associates acted as Cost Consultants for Harrods Ltd on an extensive refurbishment project, resulting from reorganisation within their flagship Knightsbridge store building and adjacent offices.

A detailed review was undertaken of the occupancy of the upper floors of the store and offices, with a view to increasing efficiency and ultimately vacating one office building for redevelopment.

Together with designers, services engineers and move management consultants, costed feasibility studies were undertaken on a number of potential schemes.

The selected scheme was competitively tendered and let as a phased contract, with the works being undertaken to strict time and budgetary constraints.

Throughout the duration of works on site the client’s normal business activities continued, necessitating co-ordination with the client’s own activities and a number of directly employed specialist contractors.
